Suggested plan. Walking times are estimates, not an on-foot access audit.
Begin at Russell Square
Give yourself around 20 minutes to settle into the neighbourhood and orient yourself.
Choose the Petrie or Grant
Allow roughly 15–20 minutes for walking and 45–60 minutes for one collection. Both currently open Tuesday–Saturday afternoons.
Continue to Gordon Square
Allow around 20–30 minutes for the approach and square. Look at the surrounding streets; historic houses are generally appreciated from outside.
Finish with a bookshop or a booked event
Leave 30–45 minutes for Store Street or Gower Street, or make a calendar event the final stop. Event duration and any waiting time sit outside this outline.
Listen with Cobble · paid audio
Would you rather follow an audio Walk?
Love, Lies & Literature is listed at 68 minutes; Scandals of Russell Square at 76 minutes. Neither is a 30-minute or one-hour add-on. Allow extra time for reaching the start and pauses.

A shared afternoon
Six stories. Time to talk.
For 90–120 minutes with a friend, choose six Scenes from the Gordon Square Collection: Polyamory & “Lustiness”; World-Shaping Economics; Lonely, Ugly & Bohemian; Noor Inayat Khan; Tagore vs Dickens & Shakespeare; and The Irvingites. Their displayed listening labels total 21 minutes, leaving most of the outing for moving, looking and conversation.
Start at Gordon Square, follow each Scene’s location in Cobble and use the surrounding streets when the garden is closed. You can stop after two or three. This is a suggested selection, not a field-timed route.
Cobble describes Together sessions for people in the neighbourhood, at home or split between the two. Begin with Polyamory & “Lustiness”, World-Shaping Economics, Noor Inayat Khan and Tagore vs Dickens & Shakespeare: 13 displayed listening minutes, leaving room for a 35–45-minute conversation. The app currently labels Together beta; check the current joining instructions before arranging the session.
